Filmmaking

There's really nothing more rewarding than being an integral part of an artistic, creative collective with the sole goal of developing meaningful and enlightening projects. My primary role in the filmmaking is as a producer. That term is so ambiguous and I'm often asked exactly what I do. Being an independent film producer, I try to do as much as I possibly can to support the project. My aim is to help finance, or obtain financing, first and foremost; and then to see the production through pre-production, principle photography, post-production and distribution. My duty is to maintain stability throughout, but most importantly, to help realize the vision of the writer and/or director's artistic vision.

Fortunately, I've got a large pool of friends, comprised of talented filmmakers and visionaries (many of their websites are listed in the sidebar, to the right). If I can be one of the driving forces behind their projects--and that project is completed--then I've accomplished exactly what I sought to.

My current projects are also listed to the right. Clicking on each link will bring you to a splash page concerning the project, here on my website. You'll find out who all is involved, what the production is about, and, if relevant, supporting visuals. From there, you'll find links to official websites and IMDb pages, if applicable, and websites to primary individuals involved, if available. In addition, you'll find links to my blog posts concerning pre-production, principle photography, production, and distribution.

Hi! My name's Adam Donaghey and akook.com is my weblog. I produce movies, I'm a visual artist, and I travel a lot. I also have a degree in philosophy. I'm an environmentalist, I drive a hybrid and I'm an ethical vegan. Most importantly, however, I'm a human being.

akook.com is the weblog and official website of me, Adam Donaghey, president of Zero Trans Fat Productions, a film production company.

First of all, you might want to get to know me. You'll find that I am a film producer and that I travel a lot. You'll also find out about some of my other interests and passions, and you may want to take a gander at my résumé.

Once you've gotten to know me and all my interests and passions, you may find you're interested in keeping up to date with my blog. The best way to keep updated is to subscribe to my blog. That way, you know exactly what's going on at all times. I also send out a few emails every once and awhile (typically once, or twice, a quarter) to my friends, colleagues and associates. Navigating the site is a snap! The main content of the page are all blog-post style links, for easy navigation. They're all archived and have permalinks associated with them. You can comment on every post, as well as email the content to yourself or a friend. All of the posts are also categorized, so if a category interests you, it's easy to find similar posts. Warning: clicking on a category will show every post within that category ever posted on a single page, and may take some time to load. Unfortunately, this is a Blogger issue and until I figure out an alternative, it is what it is. Please explore the archives and go through the various categories, as there is a great deal of content here!

Once you've grown accustomed to the site and all that it has to offer, you may want to visit my MySpace, add me on Facebook, or check out my IMDb profile. I try to post most of my remainder pictures (those that don't get posted on the blog) on MySpace and Facebook, and my IMDb profile shows some of the films I've worked on. MySpace is also a convenient way to let my peeps know what's going on.
