Global Gathering 2006.

Global Gathering 2006 totally rocked! I arrived right after noon just in time to check out Bullet For My Valentine on the main "Beach" Stage. Not my favorite band, but they put on a good show. After walking around a bit, checking out the Bacardi tent and drinking a few $13 Rum Runners, I found myself back near the stage when Flyleaf came on. Me and Pat Seals, bassist for Flyleaf, on the far right, below.

Lacuna Coil followed, playing a great set and Shinedown after that. Shinedown's rendition of "Simple Man" is breathtaking live and Brent, the lead singer, struck me as being a refreshing artist, insofar as he's really respectful to his fans. After a few hours, Avenged Sevenfold hit the stage. Although I like the songs played on the radio, I didn't really care for the set that much. Rob Zombie was up next--he's always fun to see.

Finally, Nine Inch Nails hit the stage--the real reason I was willing to spend several hundred on this event. And well worth it too. I was moshing with the best of them--and the biggest of them--during "Happiness in Slavery," "March of the Pigs," and "Head Like a Hole," among others. I've got the bruises to prove it. It wasn't until Trent started singing "Hurt" that I realized how well respected he is in the rock community. Literally, everyone turned an abrupt attention to the stage as the song began. And everyone was singing along as well. It was really incredible. See below for an exclusive video of "Hurt" recorded by yours truly.

And click the images below to see live videos from the concert, recorded by me. Now, I was rocking out during the recording process, so you might get a little dizzy. And the "Hurt" video is a bit dark, but the audio is definitely worth it, as you can hear everyone else, including myself, singing along and whatnot. The ending is also visually stimulating.

The videos are, respectively: Nine Inch Nail's "Hurt"; Flyleaf's "I'm So Sick"; and an excerpt from Shinedown's "Simple Man."

Sony Customer Service...

...Is frickin' excellent! Despite the amount of time it's been since I posted last, my computer was actually only out for less than a week! And no charge for replacing the inverter! Now, they forgot to put my power cord back in the box so I had to call them about it. The dude said he'd ship it within a few days. When did I receive it? The following day! Is that nuts?

Anyway... I've been unbelievably busy these past two weeks. My weekends have been shot because of Spring Break, and I've been working twelve hours a day or more! This Saturday, I think I'll take a drive down to Miami to check out Global Gathering; with Nine Inch Nails headlining--along with: Flyleaf, Lacuna Coil, Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie and Shinedown.

Look, I'll start blogging again when I have some damn time. You maggots have no control over me!
