Notice where the Email comes from? It seems authentic, however, there are ways to mask Email addresses. Never judge an Email simply by its address. Also, always check where the link actually resolves to. The link shown above actually resolves to 64.23.124.225/INDEX.HTM.

This has been such a large problem, Wikipedia actually references it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advance_fee_fraud.
Very briefly, the scam's intent is to get its victims to advance a small amount of money in order to setup an account transfer, generally said to be worth millions. According to Wikipedia, these scams net billions of dollars a year. Remember the old adage, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
